I have about 170 credits in college but have just taken off some time and plan to go back to finish. (i know...a lot of credits because i switched majors my junior year) i took off time because i had a baby and plan to go back to finish but not sure when. so, in the meantime, how do i note this in my resume? i don't want to put that i have my high school diploma at the top bc it may just look like i haven't even been in college and employers may just pass over my resume. should i put the dates that i attended college and somehow note under my college name the number of credits received towards my bachelors? any ideas???

Don't include anything about the number of credits you've received, because every college counts credits differently. For example, a four-year degree at my university includes sixty credits! It's the same amount of work, just counted differently. Instead, write the dates

You should put that you attended college on your resume...just list the college name, location and month and years attended. You can also list the courses you took during that time. You can ask the registrar for a copy of your transcript and you can attach it to your resume if you would like...or you can note on resume that college transcript with requests.

Always put anything that you have done (for the positive) on your resume....

ABC University, 2001 -2004. B.A. Basket Weaving, GPA 3.23, expected graduation date 12/2007.

You could put your overall GPA or your Major GPA, whichever is better. Choose a tenative graduation date. Let it be asked the specifics of you finishing - don't document it.
