They always seem to take up so much space and cannot be used during our hot and humid months.

Without buying anything to take up more space try......put a couple in your empty suitcases,..... got a guest room? put a couple under the spread on the guest bed while it's not in use,.....put some in a clean garbage bag under your bed or in a closet,....maybe you have an attic,....don't put them in a basement unless it has very low humidity. If you live in a high average humidity area, check on them once in a while and maybe air fluff them in your dryer or hang in the sun a little while.
Or, you could just buy some storage containers and find a place for them.

Wait a minute, I live in FL, it's winter, I use my blankets..........why we talking about this? Where do you live? lol

Ikea sells underbed containers with zippers - they are easier to get in and out of then the space bags or the rubbermaid containers with lids. Every time you open a space bag, you have to get the vacuum to reseal it.

We keep extra towels and all extra bedding in those containers - our linen closet is so tidy and it's a treat to get those winter blankets on the first cold night of the year - but not a huge chore!

Get space bags or the off brand called Bongo bags, they are just as well. Once depleated of the air, the blankets become quite thin. Then you can simply slide them under your bed.

Buy space saving bags. You pop everything inside then use a vacuum on reverse to suck out the air. This flat packs everything inside to a smaller and more managable size.

Awesome device

i haven't tried space bags but they look like they would be great. i personally have a tote with a lid and i wash them and fold them and store them in one of those in the bottom of my linen closet. i have a lot of storage space though so i'm able to spare that extra space. they make a lot of totes with wheels now that fit nicely under your bed. so tha'ts a way to get creative with storage space.
