Depends on the fish. Certain fish don't live long at all. Take killifish, for example. Many of them lay their eggs in the dirt of small ponds, die when the ponds dry in the dry season, and then the eggs hatch in the rainy season. They are called 'seasonal' fish.
However, most fish have a better lifespan than that. Bettas can live 3-4 years in captivity, 4-6 in the wild. Same goes for many small fish like tetras.
Larger fish tend to live longer.
Oscars can live as long as a dog.
Goldfish can live for 15+ years! The record is something like 45 years old.
Certain sharks, like the spurdog shark, are believed to live up to 70 years.

Nothobranchius furzeri, a species of killifish frequently used in scientific experiments, lives less than 12 weeks.
