For along time i considered being a hermit. I kinda am a hermit anyhow, just not a hardcore hremit, like the ones who live in caves in israil. I guess you would either find god, or enlightenment or you would go stir crazy. Maybe crazy then you find god. Anyhow people dissatisfy me greatly. Not that Im the greatest person but I try, I think so. Maybe you are a hermit, hows that working out?

No, I enjoy my alone time but I like being around people too. I don't want to go crazy either.

No, I do not want to be a hermit. It is more fun to be with others and go different places and do different things. I keep thinking that when we have a blizzard and are home bound for 3 or 4 days that it is very boring and that's like being a hermit.

I doubt you'll find any true hermits on the internet. It sort of nullifies the reason for being a hermit since you can talk to anyone at anytime and keep busy.

A true hermit avoids ANY contact with the outside world and anything designed to distract them from their conversation with God, nature, or themselves.

They occupy themselves with physical labor, not mental.

Are you willing to leave civilization and never use the internet again?

i think that human contact is necessary to not only human development but also health (emotionally and physicly). an unhealthy mind leads to an unhealthy body. i dont think the value of life would be so swell.
i myself have considered becoming a hermit. but i relized i just wanna meet the man of my life have my cats and my home all while being as self sufficent as possible (through growing my own food, and weed$ ,legally of coarse)

just know that there is another human out there you can share yourlife with and then maybe you can have a family. thenyou wont need to deal with people unless its work related or going to the store. hope this is helpful. people do suck

I wouldn't mind being a hermit but not by living in a cave. I'd want all the modern conviences. I would just try and not associate with my fellow human beings too much.

I'm a pseudo-hermit myself actually.

I have friends and family (most of whom are out of state), but prefer not to socialize. I do not have a significant other and no desire to acquire one. I have everything I need and most of what I want right in my room. I am alone, but not at all lonely.

Some may think that a solitary life if "odd" or even "psychotic" (one may assume by the responses you have received) but it depends entirely on the individual.

There's no way out. However, the tendency to be a hermit simplifies things. But like everything else, it's got its pros & cons.
I think a certain amount of solitude can do wonders for the soul.

I'm not one and don't want to become one.
