You would give the child the super power that YOU want for yourself. Now search your brain find the most awesome thing you would love to be able to do. There is you super power for your child.

If you don't temper that super power with some sort of frailty - Captain Hornblower's seasickness, Miles VorKosigan's birth defects, Superman's kryptonite - there won't be much dramatic tension in it.

Maybe the power to see the future - but just 5 minutes ahead.

How can anyone answer you, unless we know your style of writing or whether the story is going to be adventure, comedy, tragedy, or what?

My best advice is to find a Mutants and Masterminds game, play, and look at what the powers are that are available, how they are played, what they are balanced by, and what kinds of stories are produced by the characters that have them.

Ok i am good at this... i am sure. Ok, a kid who is pulled out of school by his weird teacher and taken away hostage. Blind folded, he is on top of the empire state building and is about to tip. All of a sudden, he jumps off to another buliding, unties the knots and runs as fast as sound. He goes home and says to his mom i don't know what happened and runs up to his room. He jumps over his 5'1 brother and does an awesome move in the air. That is all for now, if you need more ideas email me at cagal_968@yahoo.com bye!
