Absolutely not. Dating should not start until *at least* age 13, though I would not let my children date until they are 15. A 9 year old is still a child, no matter how mature she thinks she is.

If you think it's okay for teenagers to have babies, then by all means.
I for one think it's ridiculous. A 9 year old should be playing with Barbies and worrying about her next spelling or math test. Not worrying about a boy.
Get a reality check, hon. She's a LITTLE GIRL. Not an adult. Not even close to being an adult. She shouldn't be wearing make up, dressing like an adult, or having a boyfriend. Just wait...pretty soon she'll be in Jr. High School and you'll be comforting her because the girls at school are calling her names like "$lut" and "Ho." And if you don't stop this behavior now it is more than likely that those names will be true.
Women like you give good parents a bad name. Hopefully you'll figure out soon that you are making a mistake. I hope you do before it's too late.
Good luck.

I am sorry some people may say its cute, but nine years old is still a child she doesn't even understand even if she says she does. What do the boyfriends parents think? Is it mutual? to many unknowns i mean its a friend thing and they ain't doing stuff then i guess it is cute but now a days you never know what kids will do look at TV they know.

Depends on how nine year olds are defining "boyfriend" these days. If they just hang out on the playground together holdinghands or something, great. I wouldn't let them do anything together (or be in the house alone together) without adult supervision. I wasn't much older when I started "messing around" with a neighbor boy, and my mom had no clue and thought we were "cute."

She's nine! That's way too young to be having a boyfriend! She's only a kid and doesn't understand what a boyfriend really is! You really need to sit down with her and tell her that she really is toooooo young to really know what this means and that she needs to wait until she's older to have a boyfriend. As a mother, this is your responsibility.

If she's nine....no. That is a little too young to be going out, tell her to wait maybe three years or at least have her go with a group and the boy somewhere.

That is not okay. She is to young to be thinking about being in a relationship with some one. When she get older she is going to say I already been there and would be trying new things.

What is the matter with you, mother? Kids grow up too fast in today's world already w/o mothers like you allowing a kid of 9 to have a boyfriend. You need major parenting classes!

I don't think it's ok for her to have a boyfriend that she goes out with or one that comes over to her house. But, if she sees a boy at school that she likes and calls him her boyfriend then that's not too bad. But you should NOT encourage her to have a boyfriend at such a young age.

NO, she is only 9 years old not nearly mature enough for a boyfriend. Having friends who are male is one thing but not a "boyfriend". Is it ok to you for your 9 year old to make out possibly have sex?
