I have lost countless pets (I am and avid animal lover). You never really get over it. You just have to realize that you gave them the best life possible, and they are now waiting for you at The Rainbow Bridge. When you are ready...maybe get a new animal to give your love to. I am so sorry for your loss.

Time is the thing!!! The love we share with our pets is pure and true a pet will love you even you look all messed up .As each day passes things change in time we stop seeing them around the house in time we move on but we never forget them they are a huge part of our lives the pain will turn to sadness then one day we start to remember the good times we had with them and all the cute things they did and then when ever we think of them a smile come over our face and we feel the love only the love we had for them and the sadness is all gone .I hope you will be O.K. tonight I know it's not easy take care and big hugs to you

I would suggest cremating it. Your vet can do this for a reasonable fee and you can put the ashes in an urn. Then, you can set up a memorial. Take a nice photo of your bunny from a happier time and put it up with the urn. This will help. You will still have your rabbit and a nice memory to go along with it. Good luck

I think you need time, lots of time. Eventually you will feel better and you may want to get a new pet. But you don't really ever get over a loosing a pet.

You have to remember all the good times you had with you pet and that you didn't want him to suffer just becuase you wanted him to live. It will take time but you will see that if the animal went there was a reason. It will take some time but you will get over it and then get another.

I lost a cat nearly 2 years ago to cancer. He was 15 years old, and I'd had him sine he was born. It took me forever to get over it, and I"m still sad. I did get another cat to fill the void several months later, but nothing ever really takes his place.
Since then I started breeding cats, Maine Coons, something I've always wanted to do. While that has been very rewarding, it hasn't entirely replaced my lost cat either - but it has brought so many other wonderful cats into my life.

You poor sweetie. Death is not a happy thing, but it is part of life. Try to remeber all the cute things and fun times you had with your bunny. She was lucky to have a good human, and she is already in bun heaven picking out a new pal for you when you are ready. Cry if you want, it gets the sad out.

You don't ''get over'' the loss of a loved one. What you do, is re-direct your love, to someone else (when you are ready, of course. Never try to ''replace'' your deceased pet).
I have the rule, when looking for a new companion, to get one that doesn't resemble the appearance of the one I lost.

The same way you get over a human, think of all the happy moments. Look at pictures and smile. There will be tears of happiness in the place of tears of grief.

my dog ran away when i was a kid. i was upset about for a long time- still am. Buying another pet will not replace your pet. Losing someone you care about is never easy (pet or otherwise). But time heals all wounds.
