No. I'd imagine most people here would think it's a bit sexist and exploitative. If a football (soccer) team tried to bring out a bunch of dancing girls there'd be an outcry. Lets face it, they're not there to "cheer" the team on or to "psych up" the crowd no matter how much they want to believe it. They're there for "eye-candy" for the men. It's 2006 not 1906, dancing girls at halftime are a thing of the past, and thankfully so.

No over here in the UK cheerleading is almost non existant. I think its seen as degrading women rather than supporting the team they represent. We prefer the women to play the sport than dance and jump about on the side line, we have a total different outlook on women compared to the USA

I think I saw a few cheerleading girls on TV not so long ago.
Thankfully it's not big at all - it's an American tradition we would like you to keep.
We've already got McDonalds etc... We don't need to ape you in everything, do we?

Oh yes. All these girls dancing on the side of the football pitch in the howling wind and rain certainly reckon it's worth giving up a Saturday for.

no, in general we do not like razamatazz and what we consider to be exhibitionism.... you know how "reserved" the british are.
Besides, nowadays all the cheerleaders would probably be made to wear muslim veils or something!!
