The sports personality of the year was Alan Shearer. He can play football and speak English in a funny way. Why was he not chosen?

Shearer aside, it should have been the gymnast. No question.

Zara Phillips has a stable in her back garden, of course she can ride. She didn't have to work in Tesco's to save up for her first boots.

And golf aint a sport, its a glorified business meeting.

Tweddle wuz robbed.

Well... I can see a lot of people have strong opinions on this.

All I can say is that Zara looked so shocked and happy to win that I can not begrudge her this. Even if the Queen is her gran she still is very good at riding and I don't think she would have wanted the thing to be fixed for her.

dearest madam, your question defies logic, was Alan Shearer the winner? If so - it is assumed that he was chosen.

does this allow all of the Middlesbrough team to enter next year, they also play at football...

I voted for Darren Clarke after the horrible time he and his family have had this year, and, how brave he was to come back to help his team win the Ryder Cup in 2006. I think he should have won it.
