my favorite is and always will be Paul O'neill... if u have lived under a rock or not a big baseball/yankees fan he played witht he reds and then with the yankess who hes most known for... hes my favorite cuz players now and days are arrogant or dont care about winning... today playing ball is like their job or occupation in which they just do it for money etc. but paul o'neill was a guy with fire. he had the will to win and wasnt one to not hustle out balls, and not just slump back into the dugout after doing bad. he had great warrior like energy in him that drove him and really his team to the championship many times... hes all around what a player should be... he had an attitude but it was just pumped up energy and the want to achieve and win... another is roberto clemente just because he was the best guy you could possibly know and gave so much back to everyone

Many say Barry Bonds. He has the single season record for HR's and soon the career record will be in his hands as well. But, it is a shame because, whether or not he has ever used steroids, he just has a smugness about him that I don't like.
My choice has to be the Immortal Babe Ruth. Cy Young, Ted Williams, Nolan Ryan and Hank Aaron are all extemely close as well, but no one beats the babe. His 714 HRs stood for 50 yrs, and he played in a time with no performance enhancers, and above all, he was in horrible shape. If he was a current player, who says 1,000 woulda been unreachable.

Personally mine is Stan "The Man" Musial, if you look at his stats and look where he ranks in all the top catagories he was a great player for his team the best National League team in baseball, the 2006 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals.

Roberto Clemente was not only one of the best pure hitters and fielders of all time, but he was humble, loving, and a fantastic human being. The fact that he was killed while helping people only adds to his legendary status. If he had lived just a few years long, there is no telling what numbers he could have put up.

My favorite player that I loved to watch was Mark Grace. Yes, I am a Cubs fan, but this guy just got it done. He has the second most hits in the '90s next to ex-firstbaseman Palmeiro (steroids spokes-man).

Andy Van Slyke
other than Yogi Berra, Van Slyke could have been one of the most quotable baseball players ever.

David, even though I thought Lou Gehrig was one of the best ever,he did not have the hitting streak, that was Joe Dimaggio in 1941. My favorite would either be Gehrig or Roberto Clemente

I have a crush on Craig Biggio. But my all time favorite player would have to be Nolan Ryan. Remember when he beat the snot out of Robin Ventura on the pitcher's mound? That's one tough ol' man.
