I believe his name was Edmund Halley, but he didn't actually discover this comet. He was the one who realized that two previous comet sightings were essentially identical, but spaced 76 years apart. He predicted that this comet would return 76 years later, and of course it did, so it has been called Halley's comet ever since, but he did NOT discover it. Now, I was wondering, who is buried in Grant's tomb? And who was the city of Washington named after?
