I play basketball in high school. My dream is to play NCAA basketball and get drafted to the NBA. First off i play good not really good but good. My problem is that when im playing in a game i get nervous and that causes me to play stupidly. My coach says that im playin good but i know i could do better. How can i stop being nervous? How can i start to use my head while im playing? HELP

To become fully confident in basketball you need to know exactly what you are doing. Knowledge = Confidence
Get yourself the Better Basketball DVDs they are great. They teach you everything you need to know. The best thing about them is that they go over every possible situation in the game and show you what to do. Once you've learned and practiced everything you'll then put it into your game, once you notice yourself do things well, your coach will fully appreciate you as will you teammates. Your confidence and ability will sky rocket.
Pat Riley said recently about Dwayne Wade is that he saw himself as a champion before he became a champion. Your doing exactly the same thing by thinking that you will play in the NCAA and NBA, your half way there!!! Live the dream

you see basketball is a thinking mans game. for instance, being a point guard on a fast break and your team mates are guarded are u going to pass or should u lay it up???? About being nervous, think about it in this way. you r nervous because you think you suck but being nervous makes you even worse. or when playing against a team do not mind those that look at you. how do u think those nba players play with 20,000 people looking at u.

i think that u should keep practicing and good luck reaching your goal

look at the best nba players, jordan, kobe, iverson, etc. what do they all have in common besides skill? swagger. they have so much confidence that they can go 2-16 and still keep shooting. just tell urself u are better than ur defender, look him in the eyes, dont try to beat someone off the dribble if you arent a good ball handler. dont try to post up if you are 5'2" and dont try to go for layups over their 6'10" center. psychologically beat ur opponent and you will win the game. listen 2 music before you play, and say "im the best on this court and tonight everyone will see it."

I understand that feeling and I fairly desire you uncover what you're watching for. It won't fall out of the sky. God is helping individuals who get available in the market and search. Seek and also you shall uncover. Knock and it's going to be opened to you.
