The Stand by Stephen King. The movie is several hours long, but it's such a head trip. Imagine: All but 1% of the world's population dies of a flu and you and a handful of others survive--only to battle an evil force that wants to control what remains of the world. Great story--not quite as good as the book--but still a real head trip.

Anything that is on CNN and involves IRAQ and IRAN. Reality is scarier than any movie could ever be...even thought our President will be awarded an Oscar for best performance of cluelessness.
