I don't know how old your daughter is, but she could be like a lot of girls and be irregular. I was for years. Sometimes only one or two cycles in a year. My doctor suggested birth control pills to make me regular. It worked and I was regular as long as I took them. Is she under a lot of stress? Is she over or underweight? Does she eat properly? These are all things that could also cause a lack of cycles. You really need to take her to your doctor. If she has started her periods, she should be getting regular paps now anyway. Talk to your doctor alone about it first if you think it will save embarassment. The doc will know what to do. Good luck.

My guess is she's either not telling the truth, or she's on a quarterly schedule to have her period. This is something new...they're on the pill continually for 3 months, then they have a period. I've never heard of anyone having 1 period a year. I'd ask some more questions.

She's on some type of birth control method that allows her to only have it once a year. I am telling you now though that it is NOT HEALTHY to only menstruate once a year. You should have at least 4 periods per year. If you don't believe me have her ask her doctor/gyno.

That isnt normal to tell the truth. Periods get rid of the eggs because they only last 24-48 ish hours inside of them at random. after a week or two it just gets rid of it all together. But if its not.. i dont know whats up.

Human females have their period almost every 28 days. nevertheless, at the two extremities of reproductive periods (15 years of age, 50 years of age) exceptions occur. if your girlfriend is not at these ages, she should see a doctor (Gynecologist) to check for anatomical or hormonal abnormalities.

It could be a health problem (too thin, too stressed, hormone imbalance, etc.), it could be that she is young, or maybe that she is on some fancy birth control. If I was you I would talk to her. A healthy young woman usually gets it every month.

Peace!

Well, if she is in her late 30's or 40's, it may be premenopause.
This is normal.
But if she is young, she may be pregnant, or she needs to go see the doc.
