If you clean your cage in a timely and appropriate manner, and have an adequately sized cage (www.guineapigcages.com), there should be no problems with smell. I have six guinea pigs in my home, and they do not smell unless I am a lax caretaker and do not clean their fleece regularly.

I'd reccomend an area where you and your family will be often. Guinea pigs enjoy attention and social interaction, and if they're stuck somewhere out of the way, they may miss that. Inside is definitely reccomended over outside.

No! Do not put the guinea pig outside. It needs to be out of any drafts in your house.

Wherever you decide to put it's cage you need to handle your cavy several times a day. So place the cage where it can socialize and be part of the family. If you can't do so, don't get one until your situation changes.

The family room or your bedroom would be the best bets. No animal should be put in a bathroom, for several reasons:
- Heat from showers
- Small space equals higher odor
- Lack of human interaction

Outside is fine, but you should have them indoors on the colder days, and always inside at nighttime (too many predators).

Definitly in a cage, someone in our family got one and did not keep it in a cage, and it pooped everywhere and ruined their house! Make sure you have a cage. If you dont think your the right one to become a pet owner, than dont. That is one of the first basics you should know. Might I sugjest rodents for dummies? No sarcasm ment. Good luck!

I feel sorry for the answers you'll get already! but I'd keep them in your room or any back room-not the bathroom-the steam from the shower would soak into the litter and make it moldy

In a hutch, preferably outside in the fresh air as their cages can get rather smelly and they need a little bit of outdoorness, as does any animal. Definetely NOT in the bathroom

Roll them in some cornmeal and then put them in a frying pan until golden brown.

Put it in your bedroom. they only stink if you don't keep the bedding clean. I've had mine for over 6 years and they have never once stunk.

Either your room or the living room if you haven't got any pets.
