I am for the death penalty.
What I am against is how nice they treat the convicted murderers, serial killers, child murdering freaks, etc. I mean they will go so far as to "drug them up" prior to getting the needle or electrocuted so that it's done more humanely. My butt!!! The people they murdered or commited such heinous crimes against didn't have it done to them humanely! Correct?
So essentially the losers go out of this world peacefully! (Usually after torturing, raping, beating to death, stabbing repeatedly, strangling/smothering someone, etc.)
Eye for an eye.....

I'm against it for a number of reasons:
1. The Bible (which many use to support their political stances) states "Thou shalt not kill," not "Thou shalt not murder." Big difference.
2. Every day we hear about people who were sentenced to death, had their sentence converted to Life, and years later were freed based on evidence that Law Enforcement didn't have the tools back then to conclusively analyze.
3. If we were smart, we'd study murderers instead of slaughtering them. We have a lot to learn about motivation, physical brain abnormalities, early behaviors, etc.
4. How much sense does it make to punish someone for killing by... killing them?
5. The US is one of the few "civilized" nations to still utilize the Death Penalty. And the US has has one of the highest per capita crime rates in the world.
6. I honestly believe that killing another human being diminishes us all.
Should they be set free? Good grief no. Institutionalize them, study them, try to figure them out. At least that way, they'll have made a worthwhile contribution to the world.

Yes, because due to the cost of the necessary legal processes, a death sentence actually costs more than imprisonment for life.
Most uneducated, stupid or perhaps very young people immediately answer that they are for the death penalty, their justification being, "Rapists and murderers need to die!" or "An eye for an eye," without even considering that the legal system may be flawed and an innocent person may be sentenced to death - a punishment that has no chance of recovery once executed.

Its not a deterrant because people that commit crimes do not believe they will get caught.
You didnt specify any crime by the way. Was that deliberate?
im against letting prisoners just sit in jail. They should be working and being productive.
Death penalty? Its a distasteful practice.

It really depends. If its death penalty for murder, then probably yes, but other than that, no.

No. Why should our taxes pay for these low life scums to live in jail??... Just kill them I say!
I also think that they should be executed in the cheapest possible way and even if it means just hanging them... these murderers and rapists don't deserve a nice quick easy death.

No. Some of the crimes they commit, gets them in that situation. No one ever forced them to murder someone, or do anything against their free will.
