If Seattle is an example of the Reason For The Season, no it has lost it's true meaning. They took down a Christmas tree in the SEATAC airport, because a Jewish Rabbi wanted to have a Menorah lighting alongside it today! It was an opportunity among religions to display their beiliefs. Meanwhile, materialistic greed has taken away from the "Spirit of Christmas". Giving has been replaced with what am I gonna get?"
To the ninnys in Seattle: Jesus was a biological Jew and went to temple. Christmas is the time to give, share and show love to All Mankind and should be observed year round.

I think that the real meaning of Christmas has been lost.
Is standing outside of stores over night in very long lines trampling people for the best prices having care for others and peace in the world? I think not.
the United states is the only country that acts like this.
Every other country still has the real meaning in mind. Christmas in the US has become too comercialized and it is a big disgrace.

Yes. It was lost when it was taken away from the Christians, and taken away from the Christians by Hallmark.

not for me...i refuse to let my christmas be ruined by anyone or anything...but, maybe i'm just different, i don't get all freaked out by the latest trends, or any of that nonsense...there is some absolute dreck on the airwaves...that's why channel selectors and on/off switches were invented

It does seem like Jesus gets lost in all of the bustle of shopping. I just like to think if Christmas makes children happy then Jesus thinks it's okay. He always did sacrifice for us.

Cancerman,
Christmas will always be the birthday of Jesus. No matter what anybody tries to do to stop it, it will always be the most celebrated holiday of the year.

Nah...I found it just last week...it was simply hiding behind the fruit loops. I put it back where it belongs though...feel free to grab some on your way out.

of course it is lost because most people have left religion behind and only concentrate on themselves and what they want.
