Negative, ghostrider! lol

I went through quite a few years of online dating. It's like long-distance relationships minus the very SMALL foundation of trust. You have never seen them face to face, never had the chance to learn their mannerisms. People CAN and DO lie! I dated a guy online whom I met a year 1/2 later for the first time...he looked exactly the same, sounded the same, but wasn't very clean and had this incredibly creepy vibe about him. I dated another online for over a year and he turned out to be an incredible freak with dirty secrets. I found out later that he was ten times more broke than he lead on, and all of these digusting things about his past and present.

BUT- I don't think there's anything wrong with meeting someone online and talking to them for a while if they actually live close by and you're just getting to know a little about them. It can help save the embarassment and eliminate the discomfort of first dates! I met my current sweetie online and we met 1 week later. We've been together one year and 6 months....we're moving in together in a couple months!

Good luck!

I would say go for it. I have never dated anyone via the internet, but I know people who have done well with that.
