Looking for a good jazz artist for a gift for a friend of mine. I know he likes music with a good tenor saxist and/or trombonist. He already has a lot of stan getz, t. monk, ray charles, louis armstrong, maynard ferguson, and chet baker. he likes chet baker, so maybe a similar artist?

Im not good at this whole music thing.

Thanks!!!

There is a new artist who is really great. It's not just my opinion. Check out this dependable website's review-http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:rq6jtr3tkl5x

PS-Whatever you decide, do NOT get Kenny G.

Medeski, Martin and Wood , they are a great newer jazz band. I love the oldies but there is some good new stuff too. But if it is the old you prefer try Miles Davis!

I would recommend Sonny Rollins. He is one of the great saxaphone players. Saxaphone Colossus is one of his greats. If you want to give him something older and a bit more mellow, I would suggest Coleman Hawkins' Body and Soul.
