Absolutely not. In fact, I've known MANY women over the years that were mothers, that had no business having children.
I'm 41 and have never had the desire to be anyone's mother. I definitely don't think that women should procreate just because they are capable of doing so. It's not fair to the child/ren...

It is traditional and even biblical in a sense. Many things in the world is characterized by Christian beliefs. I am a Christian, but I think a lot of people twist the Word to benefit themself. If you look at biblical teachings, you will often see if a woman is barren then she is an object of scorn. You will hear some say, be fruitful and multiply. If a third of the women in the world did not have children, the human race definately would not die out. People are very quick to push their own views on people, but they do not clean up their own backyards. If you do not want children, do not have children. Foster homes are full of unwanted children right now. I would much rather see people not have children than children feeling unwanted all of thier lives. Your choice is a mature on, because many people give in to the pressures of society and children are being raised unhappy and abused mentally and physically. So I commend your choice, only you can decide what is the best for you.

NO, there are plenty of women I know who know they are not the mothering type and are not going to have a baby to prove that point. But there are so many willing to lay up and have kids when the last thing they need is a child because they can barely take care of themselves.

When I see women hollering at childeren in stores and see them loose there temper with there kids I don't think all women are cut out for it.I think those that really want them and have prepared themselfs for child raising should but ones that drowned or kill there children have no business having kids.

can and suppose to are NOT good enough reasons to be a mother. A woman must WANT TO - then when she has children, her commitment will be more complete. Motherhood (parenthood) needs total commitment, the children will be your children FOREVER, no way to get out of it ever !

Definitely not. I know alot of women who have no maternal instinct whatsoever. I think many women are pressured by their families to "produce" and it makes them resentful. The decision about babies should be made before a couple gets serious.

heck no! there are some women who definately should not be moms. for whatever reason, they are selfish or just not mom-material, but it takes a certain person to be one. i know that i never had the i-want-to-be-a-mom feeling until lately. if i had had a child in my early 20s, it would not have been pretty. when i have a child, then it will be because i want to.

I agree with deja vu. I don't want children and it's a good thing that I don't. There are women who shouldn't be bearing offspring. I know that I'm one of them.
If women truly have a biological clock, then mine's malfunctioning. I don't want it fixed!

I know women that ARE mothers (biologically, anyway) who had no business becoming mothers in the first place. So, no, definitely not.

No ethical standards are required to be a mother. Nature obviously thinks they should. I don't.
