Lets see.... there are 50 states plus territories and protectorates in this country alone... there are also many other nations on this planet. And all of them have varying laws covering prostitution. You will have to be more specific to get a viable answer.

It really depends on what country you're going to, but in the US it's illegal almost everywhere. People bypass the laws with "escort services" in which the girl is hired for the night to be an "escort" to the man.

In about 1/2 of the US prostitution itself isn't what is illegal. What's illegal is the Solicitation Of Prostitution. Look up which it is in your jurisdiction (it may be both!). Keep in mind that there are some places where it's perfectly legal to prostitute AND solicit.

It TOTALLY depends where you live.
In my state it is completely illegal, while in Nevada, it is a state regulated industry.
