pretty much...there are several 'typical conservative' types out there-there's the 'do as i say, not as i do' type, like foley ,haggard, rush, and o'reilly'...there's they 'omigod, somewhere there's a billionaire out there paying taxes -we have to save him' type...and then there's the 'hey, let's you and him fight' chickenhawk type...which includes most of the top officials in the bush administration and the national republican party...

Mark Foley was a Rhino at best and never was a conservative. And I don't believe that he has *any* supporters among Republicans at this point.

Well, is Michael Jackson a typical pop star? It's too easy to generalize him as a conservative hypocrite, but I'd like to think the underage page contact is hopefully an aberration and nothing more.

Mark Foley was a typical politician, as were his protectors.
A serious question: Is such partisan hatred as expressed here good for America?

No, but I am sure he wishes he was a typical democrat. If so, he would be embraced for his "diversity" and any relationship with a young man would be considered "bold" and entitle him to standing ovations by his fellow politicians.
Did this happen with Foley?

Obviously not a "typical" conservative. However has he been a Democrat they would be hailing him as a leader in gay rights.
