yes actually. recent studies concluded that the neanderthals didn't die out, the were bred into the human species, at first they said it was impossible because of the difference in the DNA sequence, but now they said yes it could and did happen. funny really them damn scientist cant make up there mind!! just like w/t-Rex they answers change because there scientific knowledge changes.

Given that we know the Neandertals existed from the remains left behind and only have a story taken by the Christian belief and written down as fact to say there was a Cain, plus the glaring answer that they would have lived at different times if both were real, in answer to your question, no. I recently skimmed the information on DNA testing to also say that the Neandertals could not successfully produce offspring with other humanoids that lived in their time frame.

As to what you listed as the traits from Cain and those from the Neandertals, I find myself mildly offended. Why not give the so-called human traits to the Neandertal? The wonderful artwork left behind by this people tells us that they had spirit, empathy, sympathy and many more traits that define a caring, thoughtful culture.

There are some interesting Neanderthal like stories from the bible includling Cain and Esau. I found a passage that described them as hunters living under rock ledges. Though noone could say for certain that Cain was more than a story or that Neanderthals may have inspired the stories, I wonder if it is possible not only that Cain might mate with one but that he was a Neanderthal. Esau was the first of the twins to be born (Jacob was his twin). He was covered with red hair, and was called Esau. Some scholars believe that the word Esau means "hairy." Anyway, you can find a lot of contradictory information about Esau and Cain.

There are interesting references in the Bible to races of Giants produced by intermating. Some people claim that it was fallen angels possessing men and mating with women. Some claim that it was just Seth's descendants mixing with Cains. I suppose you could say that it might have been Neanderthals mating with other Hominids. I read somewhere that as "modern" humans began moving up into europe out of Africa that there were only a few of them left because of a heavy drought. This could have been the basis for the stories later found it the Bible and other religious stories. Maybe when hominids from africa first saw hominids from europe they had to come up with a plausible explanation for as to where they had come from.

First, you assume Cain was a real person, which we don't have evidence for this assumption beyond the scriptures of an ancient religious tradition (and as we all know, just because it is ancient and just because it is religious, that don't make it true--objective evidence is required). But let's assume he was real. then, secondy, it has already been demonstrated just within the last three months, by means of DNA analysis, that Neandethals could not in fact mate with homo sapiens.

The source for that information can be easily gotten just by browsing thru recent relevant articles in the newspaper, let alone the numerous scientific journals avaliable at coleges and universities.

Religion is a creation of the nation-state,the connection is still seen in Vatican City which was created when Kings were appointed by God and the Pope commanded an army.Americans throw in some Ben Franklin along with the Bible which is an example that the function of religion is to support the nation-state.

Religion is a death cult which serves the purposes of an expanding empire.Life cults were destroyed when the death cults invaded but we still see evidence of life cults in Christmas.Women did not lead armies or churches or nations they produced life while men produced death.

The KKK was Christian and thought that blacks and whites mixing was a sin so they burned crosses for purification. All this focus on mating by the proper people is an orthodox religious practice in order to maintain the ruling class in a nation-state.

Marriage and slavery are institutions of control created by mixing statute with scripture.World War Two led to mass college education in the United States so it was able to break away from the primitive past but people like you are still around to drag us back.

What in the world are you asking???
(1)"Cain" wasn't really a person.
(2)What's with your list of traits? That doesn't even make sense.
(3)This question has nothing to do with anthropology, or any research within anthropology. I think it should be asked in the "religion" section or something. It really shouldn't be asked at all since it is coming from such a flawed set of ideas.

You lost me there on those traits. Why don't you ask that in the religion section? Anthropology's no place for discussing people from the Bible.
