my friend mandy found a check that was signed and filled out for around 1000 dollars but not made out to anyone so she put her name on it and cashed it she got a call from a detective investigaging check fraud she is scared shitless she figured it was like finding money kinda stupid i think but what is going to happen to her can she get in some real truouble or do you think she can get off this is the only thing she has ever done other than tickets what do you think??

They call that fraud and yes she will probably be recieving her meals in disposable containers soon. What happened to being honest.

Tell her to get her affairs in order so that while she's doing 5 to 10 in the Big House for Fraud and Theft (her kind may be a Federal charge because she involved a bank), she won't have to worry about anything being left unattended to 'til she gets out!

she's in trouble. They will probably put her on probation and make her pay restitution. Next time she finds a check that's signed and not made out to anyone, shred it or call the person that the check belongs to.

I believe it is called Fraud!!
Yes it is a bad thing that she has done. She very well could go to jail and will have to make restitution.

This is a crime. She will be in trouble and rightfully so. Forging a check is no different than walking into a bank and stealing money. Bad decision on her part.

Oh F! Your friend needed to find a lawyer yesterday. She should retain one and surrender herself soon to get any chance at mercy(avoid Jail) in Court.
