you usually know what they are gonna charge or how they charge. now making sure they do what they say is a whole new ball game. unless you get a copy of every document that your lawyer has. bug them and bug them and bug them. that is all you can do and that can be a useless fight also.

They charge either on an hourly basis or a contingency basis. You are entitled to a copy of all correspondance and any documents that they file with the court or the other party. They should provide a detailed bill.

You have to ask! Don't assume.
