Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing.
Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

If you can sing, then sing a song, if you can write, sing the song that you wrote. Find people who can play instruments well to be in a band. Go to a local recording studio and make a couple of recordings until you like what you have. Take it to a local radio station and ask them to play it, if you're going by this route, make sure the song is original, or at least that the copy-right is up (author's life plus 50 years in most places). Go to local bars and pubs and such and ask to do gigs. Advertise in coffee shops and such. Rent a hall. Sell tickets. Play, be confident.
Above all: work hard and don't be afraid of criticism, it can help you grow if you apply it.

I'm sorry, darling, however the chanses of you becoming someone like Justin Bieber or Usher is lovely thin :( although, when you love singing and you might be good at it, you would get some lovers due to the web. Create a youtube account, and add videos of you singing, and you migh get some followers that method.

If you really have your heart set on it, and you're a good singer, send tapes to record companies, get an agent, try out for american idol etc. etc.

if u have songs made.. a good way is to go put them on soundclick and myspace...n wit that give your cd's out n perform jus about anywhere u can..give to the radio stations...do all the lil things first...trust me..make shirts and let the city kno who u r..then start 2 travel to open up shows or at bars..good luck

first u have to get known in your local kareoke bars then when u start to get alot of experience normally talent scouts come and spot u if ur good then u get signed to label and off u go making an album but u only get big if u write hot songs.
