It is Nicholas! Just the other day in latin class, I learned that in Europe, there is a St. Nicholas day which is December 6. There actually is a so called "Santa" for the people in Europe who brings gifts for "wise" children. But he's just a regular person with no raindeers, elves, ect. and I believe he lives in Turkey. He also has a African American assistant who helps him bring gifts.

Santa is his first name and Claus is his last name.

Nick or Kris : they're both correct. Maybe he's Kristov Nicholaus or Nicholas Christopher. "Santa" is Latin for "saint" or "sacred".
