Hopefully. If not, then try System Restore if you're running Windows 2000 or later. Otherwise, start Windows in Safe Mode and try to remove it that way. If all fails, load your System Recovery CD/DVD and reinstall the entire system. Backup your files only, but don't back up programs or you might risk backing up a virus. Also, when you copy your backups onto your newly-reinstalled system, scan them first.
If you don't have a disc, then wait 2 months and go out and spend a few hundred bucks on a Windows Vista disc.

Spy sweeper is more for malware (spyware), and ad ware removal. However, some of these intruders can initiate an attack on your system and plant a virus. You should have both a adware/malware removal tool and an antivirus tool.

I recommend you not deploy Norton Antivirus, I even have the Norton internet secure practices 2006, it is their finished equipment deal and it quite is putting on a shelf because of the fact I bumped off it (Too many issues, area Hog and did not do as stable as another courses). There are different courses that are greater effective. for occasion, i exploit form Micro computing device-cillin internet secure practices 2007 and prefer it. bear in mind do not use better than one Antivirus.

McAfee says manually clean computer (whichever way your security system does it). Restart computer, scan virus again. If computer can't clean or delete a virus, consult the Virus Information Library at McAfee (or check with your security system people). McAfee URL is Http://tinyurl.com/twjsc. More help at McAfee customer support web site (or check with your security -- call them, be it Norton or whoever). I just happen to use McAfee Security.

Hopefully. If the virus is familiar to the anti-virus software, or uses a startup method that the anti-spyware can clean.
