There is a visible argument from the muslim community in the west that stereotyping muslim youths will encourage them to become terrorists.

But if someone kept stereotyping you as...let's say, a rapist, would that be a justification for you and encourage you to go out and rape little children?

No...They already are terrorists.
What make them terrorist is their blind belief and following their holy(?) Quran.
They are very racist and think that they are superior to others.
They think that they are good and treat others like dirt.
They think that the world belong to them only.
They want to convert the whole world to Islam.
They've got many children and plan to do so worlwide.
They marry very early
They fcuk other's wives and keep their own under veil.
They are in many illegal activities and blame others for that.
They evade paying taxes but try to get the most from the welfare state.
They always complain as if they are the poorest being on this planet.
They use many Western values such as political correctness to get to their evil acts.
There are too much to write, so let me resume it in a simple sentence. THEY ARE THE EVIL OF THIS PLANET.

I find it difficult to believe that the Muslim community have put forward this argument or even that they would accept it as a valid one.To accept the stereotyping of any group of people requires a mind that is uneducated ,is easily led and has a deep rooted inferiority complex,a mind whose fears and insecurities can be played upon by some of the media for their own unscrupulous reasons. The Muslim youth of today I believe would recognize any attempt at stereotyping and far from turning them into terrorists they would treat it with the contempt it deserves

More than that - when other governments supply arms and guerrilla training to a group and then calls them terrorists, there is really something wrong.

I think that people very often live up to expectations of their family and community. The black sheep of the family never amounts to anything because no one in the family really believes that he can. He must live with the label and the life it creates or leave and create a new reality for himself. Nothing justifies mean or illegal behavior, but we all need to take responsibility for our part in it.

Peace!

In fact, Muslim clerics and Muslim television directed at kids in many Muslim countries stereotypes them as terrorists, teaching small children how to strap on a bomb vest.

They are stereotyping themselves, we can't add much more to it.

Let me ask you all a serious question. Given that a Muslim is someone who believes in Islam, therefore that it is a sin to live under a non-Islamic government... will the 'moderate' Muslim take up a rifle and fight against the hard-core Islamists if those Islamists promise to turn our nation into an Islamic nation?

Think about it - whose side will they choose when given the opportunity? To support the rise of Islam or defend the 'Great Satan'?

Yes.Often times these days terrorism is less on religion and more on politics then it was in 9/11.However if Iran is struck by a U.S attack it will be religion and capturing Jerusalem. But right now terrorism is being influenced by politics. For example Al-Qaeda in Iraq. They are clearly against the U.S being in Iraq and so are there.i think that Sunni terrorism is more with politics like Al-Qaeda and Shiite terrorists are there to acheive a religious prophecy as hearde in speeches by the Iranian president.I think the theory of them being influenced to terrorism is common in Europe as riots are taking place in that area.Mostly from descrimination.Recently in Dutch area the burka which is a traditional clothing among Muslim woman was banned because of instability among citizens and civilians. This is an example of whats happening there. The U.S as a Democracy is more stable and so these problems are not happening as of yet.Stereotyping a Muslim will probably insite riots or marches and demonstrations but they can't actually go to a terrorist camp and start blowing people up because of offense. This kind of stereotyping has occured at school (im in 8th grade).A Mexican kid (admits he is illegal) went up to me and said "ai you got a bomb in that bag"(I am from India and we look Arabian) and I got ticked off by his comment. And so I lost control and replied by saying "ai you got a passport in that bag".I know that was a mean thing to say but I was just so mad.For probably half an hour I disliked Americans lol.But ofcourse American people are so nice and me and my family went to Safeway for groccery shopping and an American family was exiting the store and stood out of the way letting us in and then exiting. That was a nice act and immedietly I forgot about the whole stereotyping problem at school.I mean America looks bad when we see the media or the internet but in reality the people are so polite to one another and that is what makes it so that Amrica is not suffering the same problem Europe is suffering.I look at the media and I found that an American military official had told Pakistan "We will bomb you to the stone ages".Again I started to dislike America. But my family goes to the mall for Halloween and the electronics store gives my 9 year old sister a whole sack of candy because the mall was closing anyway.I again looked at America kindly. Its the media that makes America look bad.Maybe the whole stereotyping problem at school as well but the kids at my school don't relly know or care about politics and the effect of stereotyping and will say those things.

I dont know. We shouldnt stereotye muslims as terrorists. Not all muslims are terrorists, especially here in the US. But stereotyping does not justify them actully becoming terrorists.

I think this problem could be solved if more muslim leaders condemn suicide attacks. But they dont.

???? How about the *FACT* that they have been terrorist to us for at least 25 or 30 years? How about a people that strap bombs to their children in order to commit murder? How about a people that commit genocide on a regular basis? How about a people that riot and kill over cartoons? How about a people that execute a woman that has been raped if she doesn't have 4 witnesses? Do they pay *any* attention to what is going on in the world?

NO! No more than it would cause men to become gay, simply because someone sterotyped all men as gay... or a rapist.

Radical Islamic terrorists hwever use indoctrination of their own youth to create more and more members to their ranks. It's not the west that fostersw this... it's the Islamic terrorists themselves!

No one can make you A terrorists. You become one all by your self. I do not believe in the old addage that how you were brought up determines what you will do in adulthood. I grew up with a bunch of wife betters but I have not struck my wife in 41 years of marriage. My dad was a wife beater, my uncles were wife beaters & my grandfather was a wife beater but I broke the mold. My brother was married 4 times because he was a wife beater. My wife knew about the beatings but she told me befor we got married that if I wanted to eat jail food, just hit her once I never did. I HATE jail food. I spent 48 hrs. in jail for being drunk. I even stopped drinking because of that stay in jail. I was allways being beat by my mom & dad but I have never beat my daughter. So I believe if you dont like what was being done to you as a child , dont do it to anyone else as a adult.

Not likely. Fighting is all most of the poor people in some middle-eastern countries know. They see it as children and are brainwashed to hate Americans. Is it any wonder growing up in a violent environment promotes violence?
