I've heard it is genetic and people can't help it because their genes make them more prone to that lifestyle, in essence they are born that way.

Homosexuality is as much genetic as heterosexuality. Do not equate homosexuality to rape and pedophillia since it is also found in the straight community. Rape and pedophillia are about power where a person uses some one who is helpless or unable to defend them selves, for their own satisfaction or as a means of abusing them. Alcoholism is when you induce something that is other wise not found in your body, so you can't say it is "natural" since you are taking in alcohol. Also alcoholism leads to distructive behavior, while homosexuality does not.

For me being gay is just the way I am....I like women too but prefer men...so for me it is a choice, one I am happy, not ashamed to make.
