Budget your money wisely and keep looking for any job for the time being. Once you got one job, and it is not what you are looking for, then look for another job while you are working the one you have at the moment. I know it is tough, I have been there and still am, but I got a job and still looking for the better one yet. You could go the social service to get by while you are unemployed and go to those career center to keep on looking for the one you want there are usually people there who will help you and do mention to friends and family that you are looking for one too, the more net work you have the better chance of getting a job. Good luck and don't give up. "When the times gets tough, the tough gets going" an old saying during the 1930's.

It took the temp agency 3 months to find me a BS parts assembly job... not what I want to do... but I am desperate for work at this point. If I hadn't gotten a job by Jan.. I was going to go to fast food.

been out of work 2 yrs.. but actively looking for employment for 6+months. I have experience as a surgical tech and as a 9-1-1 dispatcher / records clerk too.

how to get through it.. I have been using coupons, rebates 2nd hand stores, dollar stores etc... oh yeah, and robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Focus on what you enjoy doing, and build your life around it.

If you enjoy sweeping streets, then decide to become the best street sweeper.

What matters is that whatever you choose to make your life's vocation, you must find it enjoyable or it will make you miserable.

Take the time now to find what you want to do, and then work at becoming legendary at it.

Suggestions: The delivery service needs ambitious, hard working people, whether it be driving or messengering...the demand is great.

Now: Accept the first job you can find. Fast food, retail, ANYTHING. Making some money is better than making no money.

Then: Start applying to desk jobs and jobs you enjoy doing.

first off ignore the first person that answer your question. second it depends on how you want to go about it. if you don't have a good education go back to school, if you can't attend a college full time do an on line college.
if you weren't happy with the work you were just doing, think about what you enjoy doing and do it. my husband use to always complain that he hated his job, so i told him to stop complaining and do something about it. so he opened his own detail shop. good luck!
