Put up ads in your local supermarket as a housekeeper until you can do something that you really want to do. I know alot of women who make great money doing this and once your name gets out you will have plenty of homes. My husband did this for his first wife because she was unskilled, and they were getting a divorce. It helped her get on her feet.

There are lots of jobs... they may not be the most glamorous things but they will put food on the table.
I live near a resort area so there are lots of housekeeping jobs, restaurant work of all kinds from kitchen(cooks, dishwashers, prep-cooks and other such) to working as a server(they don't like to be called waitresses or waiters anymore),bus person, or hostess. Not to mention grounds keepers, and then there is always bar tender. Every fast food place there is likes to hire the more mature worker too. It helps to set an example for the kids. There are always positions at Wal-Mart and other such retail establishments.
I wish you good luck on the job search!!

Keep looking at adds to see what is available, in your area. What about Bank Tellers, Grocery stores, cashiers, and of course ask any neighbors, friends if they know of any openings where they work. Also look into Car Dealerships.and do not think of yourself as unskilled. You have many skills just from raising a family.Best of luck, and Merry Christmas

Well, unless you get some kind of education you'll be working in retail or restaurant...very low pay and high-stress. Otherwise, you could go to a two-year school and become a dental hygenist, office assistant, massage therapist, paralegal....etc. There are lots of options just by getting a one to two year education. That's what I would suggest. Good luck!

What are you really good at? People skills? Working with your hands? You
are probably already capable of doing many jobs but you need to thing what
it is that you want to do. If you love what you do it is never work.

Start with the phone book and look for a federal program called Vocational Rehabilitation-- see if you qualify-- isn't as easy to find as it was years ago-- but go for it. They sent me to school and I did well.
good luck
