I recently found out that my boyfriend and I were going to have a child, my doctor told me I was at least 10 weeks along (we won't know for sure how far along I am until tomorrow), but we also both know that it's alright to have sex while pregnant. The problem is when him and I had sex tonight there were sharp pains in my stomach, a few of them but it still hurt when he went deep. I've never felt that pain before until tonight, is this normal or is there something wrong?

Hi. I had some uncomfortableness with intercourse during different stages of my pregnancy. I am a nurse. You should not have "awful" pain anytime during pregnancy. You will need to discuss this with your doctor and avoid intercourse if it is PAIN! Sometimes a larger man can hit your expanding cervix and it will feel weird and uncomfortable but not painful. I'm sure your fine but talk to your doctor to relieve your mind and make sure all is well. Good Luck and Congratulations!

I experienced the same discomfort with my first pregnancy. Your cervix swells when you are expecting - especially at 10 weeks or so. However, just to be sure, I would hold off on sex until you can discuss it with your doctor. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

Merry Christmas :)

i'm 15 weeks pregnant and i noticed that it didn't really hurt it just felt different when he went deep.
it kinda felt like my uterus was pushing outward and it was a weird pain. but not a very painful feeling. basically your uterus is growing so things are different in there now. it could hurt for some woman and it wont for others.

Your cervix is very sensative right nbow Its very normal for it to hurt. You may want to try and change your position when he can't go to deep and it should help. the position we did that worked was me on my side and him in the missonary and that worked or you could be on top that way you can guide how deep he gets.

You should be fine, but it might be a good idea to avoid putting pressure directly on your belly. Your baby is very well protected inside you and your body will tell you if you need to stop.
