Was married to one. Very manipulative. I had many Filipino friends and I found they would do things for you but seemed to always have an ulterior motive. They acted so poor and needy at work like life had been so hard almost so people would pity them, but away from there they were buying only the best, name brand, etc. My own in-laws were somewhat that way. We sent tons of stuff to them, money, clothes, anything they asked, but it only seemed to make them more dependent. They had the means to be financially independent (we set them up for that, too) but didn't want to put out the effort. Very secretive. Doing things on the sly. Of course, not all Filipinos are that way, but that was my experience over several years time.

i'm tired of hearing/reading how religious and honest they are. go to the PI and i assure you the people will try to get your money any way thay can. they will tell you their goods are genuine when in fact they are poor copies. do not enter into any agreements with anyone----oral or written. they are notorious for not fulfilling contracts.
