How dare you attack Saint Al this way! He buys carbon credits (from his own company) to offset his carbon use so he's good and you're bad. I'm sure he'd sell you some and then you could be good like him and feel better about the end of the world. I've always found it an odd coincidence that the very first Earth Day organized in the US just happened to fall on the 100th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin's birth. Not to say that most environmentalists aren't sincere but I question the goals of their leaders since they seem so different from what they claim to believe. And inimical to the values in the US Constitution as well, i.e. freedom of speech as long as we like what you're saying, etc. The Left has never seen a socialist or communist they didn't admire and the Greens are part of the Left so that may be a natural progression or they may just want the same things. Central planning and control at the expense of individual liberty. One supposedly for the benefit of the people thru the State, the other for the benefit of the planet thru the State, but the tactics and propaganda of the AGW movement are familiar somehow.

It's actually quite simple, and relatively cheap for anyone to become carbon neutral simply by purchasing carbon offsets.
It cost me about $130/yr (though with all his traveling, I'm sure Gore pays quite a bit more).
The idea behind it is that your payments are used to finance development of clean energy, which replaces the carbon that would have been produced by the use of dirty fuels such as coal. This is related to a very efficient, market-based method of promoting pollution control called the cap and trade method, which has effectively reduced other pollutants in the past. This method rewards innovation and creativity and is positive rather than punitive.
So, not only is it simple to become carbon neutral, it creates jobs in new industries. A great deal for everyone (except Exxon, I suppose, unless they start greening up their act)
I hope you'll take a second and explore the link below.

Gore has always been a joke.
And a hypocrite.
Like all Democrat Politicians, he depends on people being easily fooled.

Obviously not you. However, I do. I take the condition of this world quite seriously. I'm not afraid to listen to intelligent thought.

You guys are funny. If Bush has some crack pot idea, you will all say, "at least he is passionate about his beliefs". If someone else is passionate about a global issue, you say you can't take him seriously. is that a double standard, or what???
