A family society can be good and can be bad, depending on the beliefs that are passed down from generation to generation. In Asian societies, family honor is more important than any one member of the family. You do not do anything to dishonor the family. That is a good thing. But if you have a system where hatred and discriminatory attitudes are passed down from generation to generation, that can be a bad thing.

I don't think a family is necessarily a man, a woman and 2.5 children.

People who live in a home together and interact with care, love and responsibility for and to each other is a family.

I do think a family "unit" is very important to society because it gives children a sense of belonging and acceptance.

That's so important when children become adults.

It is important because.......for example, a king will pass down his place to his son when he dies......if there was no family than who would he pass the place down to?....thats where family society comes in.
