I can speak on Christianity because I am a Christian. My comfort comes from knowing that I have a God who loves me unconditionally and as long as I have faith and follow His guidance, nothing on earth can harm my Father's child-me. Christianity does not promote violence, instead it says to leave it in God's hands to deal with.

But for many who do not believe, religion is just another form of terrorism because some people are willing to die for what they believe in (martyrdom), for example the Muslim religion. That is one reason it is hard for us to fight this war because they have so many people-man, woman, and child-who are willing to die for Allah and there are thousands of them. I dont know anyone over here, even in the military, willing to die like that or stand in line to volunteer to strap a bomb to themselves and detonate them in groups of people.

I was a born-again Christian until my best friends died of AIDS. Now I can't believe any "loving god" can exist and allow so much suffering. So much suffering.
If my cat is hurting, I help him. Where is god's help?
I have to admit, tho, that when I prayed every day, I was a bit more happy because I "let go, let God".
Now, I face REALITY, which is often harsh, but I feel stronger in my own power to deal with life.
Religion as terror? Heck, my Catholic upbringing taught me that I was a born a sinner, born "wrong"! If that isn't terror-ism, I don't know....

Religion is sort of like fire.

One way it can be used is to make tasty pies that bring comfort and joy to all! For example religious people tend to give more to charity.

Then again, you can toss some fire into someone's face and bring them pain and terror! Terrorism is a good example of course.

Religion can be a source of comfort for those who believe in it... Like how the Bible says that God forgives and such..

But it can be a source of terror to those who don't believe it, like they say that unbelievers will got hell.. and don't forget all the religious wars bringing terror to others..

It can be a source of comfort because it brings people with the same ideals together. It can be a terror because sometimes the ideals that bring those people together is to punish other people for not have the same ideals that they do.

because faith is created by human beings in a dull ringer for the Boogie guy. it truly is meant as a device to save your little brother hiding in his room so that you're able to have a celebration downstairs - at the same time as allowing you to be his knight in shining armor at the same time as he's in want.
