I felt this way 12 years ago. I honestly don't know how I got through each day. I was on automatic pilot for two years and emotionally dead. The struggle to survive must be instinctive because I wouldn't have otherwise. Mostly I didn't think about everything at once--I couldn't. I only focused on what was in front of me at the moment....and slowly the days passed, the weeks, the months, the years. I hope I never visit that place again. I didn't use drugs, alcohol, or men to help me...GOD was my anchor and still is. Good luck to you.

I call my best friend and talk about what's going on. She is a really goood listener and gives me feedback. . I also talk to God about it. I ask him to quiteten (sp?) my thoughts and help me to move on. Pain doesn't just go away in minutes or even hours when it is so deep you feel "destroyed". Acknowledge that you are hurting to someone, sometimes just talking about it helps ease the pain. Look in the mirror and tell yourself tomorow will be a better day with God's help.

Come online and answer questions. Some might be honest answers other just to see how many reports I can get against me. Usually those are done with a little help alcohol. Surprising I didn't answer like to much of a butthead on this question.

Wow, what do you do? It depends on the situation. If its small devastation then talking to a loved one can help till the pain goes away.
If its major, you may need the help of a licensed therapist to overcome the pain or grief.

i allow myself to grieve first. i sulk, i cry, i feel bad for myself. until such time that i get tired of feeling depressed. the more i try to force myself to be happy and positive, the harder it is so i just go with the flow. BUT whatever stage of self-destruction and/or self-reconstruction i am in, I pray with all my heart. Prayers really work sometimes instantly and sometimes over time.

Cry, listen to music, talk to my dear friends and of course my close family members that are always there to offer me support, and hold on to my happy memories.
