Well done Lokbomb! but the American lost many men as POWs and dead! Perhaps it was their inexperience of war? Gerry made a bloody big dent and caused a lot of casualties!

Well the German plan was to divide and split the american and british forces in half and move out to antwerp. This battle called "The battle of the bulge" didnt last too long. The Germans put a dent into the allied offense line, but the allies soon moved forward causing the Germans to retreat, and the rest is history.

The American strategy was to attack at any opportunity and in varying strengths, this therefore made them more open to counter attack as they were unable to re group and direct their forces correctly. When the Germans launched the counter attack in the ardennes the Americans were un prepared as a result. They refused to listen to Monty who on this occasion was correct when he suggested a slight pull back to re group and then defend the line further back.
