Yes, he had a body double who was killed by the Russians.

Probably Hitler had a double when needed but not a full time body double. Would have too easy for a full time double to pass as the real thing and become involved in plots for either side.

The jury's out on this. It would make sense from the standpoint of his personal safety---------------yet, his need for a body double would be in public places and events. What would his megalomania think of someone else being cheered, "heiled", and almost worshipped.
While I don't know for sure, I have a feeling that the little Kraut wouldn't have been able to tolerate a double.
