Yes.

We both expected the other to become this unattainable ideal.

Sort of like we wanted to mold each other into what we wanted, rather than appreciate who we really were underneath it all.

Friendships can be very similar to marriages. I guess it depends on how much effort you are willing to put into them.
There are ups in downs in any friendship. The ability to weather storms together does determine the value of that friendship.

We do expect certain things out of a friendship and the main one is support and unbiased opinion about the other. When that is no longer respected, then sadly some relationships are better off left alone.

No, betrayal damaged a friendship beyond repair. True friendship is a blessing to be thankful for; however, some people think it's a tool to manipulate others for their own selfish needs.

I try not to have expectations. Just appreciate today for all it's worth!! Yes, many friendships and relationships come apart due to unrealistic expectations.

Good friends for me are hard to come by these days especially since Im an adult.. When I was a child I passed no judgements or criticisms had friends galore..I have animals they are there for you no matter what.

I expect friends to treat me the way they want to be treated and when they take advantage of me, repeatedly, I consider myself better off without them around...

I will go you one better...I lost a marriage because of it..I wanted to go to counceling and he did not so that was that...besides we were much better as friends than as man and wife.
