Why, or why not?

Yes. I think he was the worst President in US history, worse than Nixon. Lying to go to war, vengence, the political climate he created (Manichean), killing US soldiers, killing Iraqis, making more terrorists. Fulfilling the world's view of americans. Blowing the surplus and creating the enormous debt we now have.
Nothing was changed by 9-11 except that it gave the government an excuse to attack another country.

And perhaps we don't hear about the 'good things' because the negative things he has done have far outweighed the good.

And no not every president is viewed as a mess up. You seriously cannot know anything about history if you try to pull that one. True no president was ever perfect or approved of by everyone but definitely some have a consensus taht they were good presidents. Examples: Washington, Jeffereson, Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy.

Bush is not a failure. Everything we are confronted with today Bush did with overwhelming support from the entire country.

We wanted the war in Iraq.
We ignored rebuilding Afghanistan
We want Guantanamo
We rationalized torture
We supported the Patriot Act
We defended warrantless wiretapping
We drive inefficient vehicles that keep us hooked on foreign oil
We had the opportunity to throw him out in 04 and didn't
We refuse to educate ourselves and the likes of Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, and Rush Limbaugh set the tone of our national debate.

WE are the failures.

It's easy to blame Bush. But someone DID vote for him, and he has a huge administration of "talented" advisors behind him. Bush is just the tip of the iceberg. He had the misfortune of being president at the wrong time, and a lot of things that weren't his fault (the post-90s recession) were blamed on him. I don't believe in looking at things in a black and white way. The Bush administration had some screw-ups, such as Iraq, but to judge him and blame America's problems on him is judgemental and hasty.

your question has two problems.

1. who decided that all of America thinks Bush is a failure and

2. what constitutes a failure?

If you want to know peoples feelings about Pres. Bush than just ask, but dont make broad assumptions about the mindset of everyone in the United States.

I look at it like this.....When I am in a relationship and things are going great, I don't say that much, I just say things are fine. But when my relationship experiences a fight, everyone knows about what He did, and what He said and how pissed I am. My point....Bush is screwing up in Iraq and everyone knows it....but Saddam Hussein has been captured and convicted and people just say that is fine. Anywhoo, just wish we could here about more of the good things he has done, whether small or large.

Thank u for asking this question! YES, BUSH IS A SLACK-OFF AND A MAJOR PAIN IN THE GLUTEAUS MAXIMUS REGION!!! Anyway, he has made the U.S. a hated country by allies, and now we have more enemies! Though 9-11-01 was the worst day in the 21st century, he still called for the war with Iraq, which was stupid on his part!!! Now, (to quote Senator John Kerry,) we're "Stuck in Iraq" for the long-haul... (By the way, my apologies if my comments offend anybody.)

1. America does not think that. Republicans lost because they stopped being Republicans. They spent too much, grew government, etc.

2. He is not the greatest President. He is not the worst. What he does in the next 2 years will determine his legacy. He signs amnesty for illegals and there will be riots by conservatives.

Bush is not a failure. Every President has made mistakes while in office. When 9/11 happened it changed this country forever in the way our Government thinks. We still have a long rode to hoe.

Which America would that be? North, South, Central?... In any case I don't believe him a failure. But with 6 years of the Democrats and the press propaganda I can understand how a weaker mind would or could believe that.

To all of those who doubt that W is a failure, type the word failure in GOOGLE seach and see what comes up.

I personally do not care for him and did not vote for him both times. I feel that he cheated his way into the presidency. I also feel that he is racist and basically full of sh!t.
