If you have the newer version of Windows Media Playa, it has the MP3 encoding built-in, but if you have an older version, you have to download the MP3 codec from the Microsoft website. Once you have the codec, you can select the bitrate the MP3 is ripped in.

1. Use I-Tune burner to burn M4P onto Cd. 2. Use Roxio / Sonic or any windows type software to "rip" songs back off of CD. Songs will now be in wav or mp3 format.

sometimes when you rip it off the cd it rips in mp3 format. or at least that's the way it is on my computer. i'm sure there's a setting you can change on your computer that allows you to rip music in a different format.

Real Audio and Window's Media Player let you do this. Media Player has it as "rip."
