Heres a good online RPG game. Its a multiplayer game too.
Its called Zeus' Legacy.
Free,fun,worthwhile,and non-download.

So many, I'm currently addicted to Q2, it's an oldy, but the benefit is you can download everything you need for nothing. You can't beat free. Get the game (quake 2 version 3.20) downloaded, then get Game spy 3-D.Follow instructions, then kiss your normal life goodbye. :)

check out www.gamershell.com or www.megagames.com
and look at the freeware section, there's quite alot of online multiplayer games there.
it's legal too since the creaters purposely put those things onto the internet.
especially gamershell, since that has MMOG's
the one that i heard is pretty good is FEAR combat free multiplayer game on Gamershell, http://www.gamershell.com/download_15038.shtml
but i havn't played it and i don't think there's a storyline.

F.E.A.R - Private Server, Free online multiplayer (AWESOME SHOOTER)

Maplestory? (tons of ppl...some kids... mediocre mmorpg but still better than runescape)
