Your use of the term "cities" here is a little too vague. Exactly how many residents does a city have to have to qualify as a "city?" If you use 1 million as a minimum, then there are 336. However, if you lower that minimum to 400,000, for example, then that number jumps to about 913, and of course, the lower you set the bar, the higher the tally rises.

it depends on what your definition of "city" is.
even if you could define city, characteristics of each vary so greatly that there can never be a finite number of cities.
