I don't agree. Kids need homework to hone their skills. Homework is only there to help the child actually absorb what was taught and to apply it by themselves. You can't expect someone to always hold your hand, you have to learn on your own.

Kids need more homework. Too much time is being spent on nonsense, and we are raising a whole bunch if ill informed people with no grasp of language, history, math, or science. Just look at the questions on Q&A, if that doesn't prove it, I don't know what will.
Too much TV, & games too. Not enough books, falily, or exercise. That's why Chinese kids are getting the upper hand in the world.
I see some of you complaining, but that's because you are too young to know what's best. But, when you get into the real world, and can't get a job because you can't compete with others, then you will find you have all the free time you want.

i do have to much homework in eigth grade, i have 5 different classes a day, and they each give me homework as if those were my only classes with homework! but my little sister, in second grade has like 6 english or math worksheets each night! and sometimes more! sometimes my mom tells her its okay to stop if its like 7:30 at night, and my mom writes a note and says that there was too much to finish for her in time... and the teachers make her do the rest in clas, but thats not really 'home'work, so i guess its okay

I dont know what i should say about this question. Im still in school so.. yeah. lol. Although i have something to say about tests. I think people are getting too serious about them. I mean i thought tests were only to see what you know. I do okay on some tests but still.. Oh and seeing what everyone else said, I'm also saying that sometimes, kids in my school do their homework during lunch, class, etc. Most of them are usually on AIM and stuff. But i've seen my older friends and they have a lot of homework! TEXTBOOKS!!!

Id rather see children spend more time in school and have less home work. But that means paying to keep schools lit, heated, and teachers paid, so that's not going to happen. Look at the difference between Asian students and American students and tell me American kids don't have it soft!

Yeah right..if anything kids in America don't get ENOUGH homework. That's why most of them are not too bright! Their education system sucks!

ye we do have to much home work. and we cange that by eaither not doing it or going to the school board and forceing them to change it.
