Is it possible to buy your own servers and store them with a company that will connect you to the internet backbone and also maintain them and protect them etc for you?

Any links? I have been searching on yahoo and google but still cant find anything so i think there isnt anything like that out there unless i just pay for the optic fiber to a location, which is what i dont want.

Yes, some data centers will at least store your servers for a fee, you will probably need to work out a service contract to have them maintain them. This is usually called co-location. If there are any data centers near you (check with your ISP if they know any), contact them and ask about co-location. Or search for co-location.

Note: Co-location may mean different things at different companies, make sure you mean the same thing.

Yes, you can use a company like http://www.superuser.net to host your servers. Many companies will do this and you can probably find one locally to you as well to do this.
