Like you can do the *67 trick on calls to say a call is from a restricted number, is there a way to do this same trick for messages (text, photo)?

nope you cant blaock it work txt and pictures... but (example) if you have tmobile.. you can go on the tmobile web site sign in ,.,and send an annomus text to some one with tmobile..

you can change on the settings whether you want your phone number displayed or not..try searching the manual of the phone (can also download it)...
