First stop, is in Manila City, the Philippines capital. You have to visit the Intramuros or the Walled City where the Spaniards settled.

Second stop is Cebu City, the Philippines oldest city. It is where the Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan landed and established the first Spanish settlement in Asia. Magellan also gave the local monarch the Santo Niño image (which still survives today) and is now the patron saint of the city. King Carlos of Spain, visited Cebu in the 1990's and dedicated the monument of Magellan in Fort San Pedro, the smallest Spanish Fort in the Philippines.

Third option is either you go to the following places:

Vigan in Ilocos Norte Province (North of Manila). The town is like one open air museum. Rows of well preserved Spanish-Filipino houses with cobbled stone streets. If I am not mistaken it is a World Heritage Site (UNESCO)

Zamboanga City in Mindanao (South of Cebu). It is the only region in the country that has a distinct language. It uses Spanish heavily yet mixed with local dialect/grammar. They call the language "Chavacano". Fort Pilar is a must see.

Olah! You can try going to the University of Santo Tomas. I'm a student of the university. UST also has a museum which holds articfacts as early as the pre-Spanish era here in the country. UST's a good place to start with. Then almost 10 mins from UST, you can go to Fort Bonifacio and Intramuros once had been Spanish strongholds centuries ago. One bonus you can get when you come here at Manila, you get to experience the traffic the metropolitan's infamous of.

Try Cebu and Northern Luzon. Apparently, Spanish architecture / culture is still evident in those places. Although as a general rule, Las Islas Filipinas is so beautiful from North to South.

Mabuhay!

Go straight to Cebu or Boracay for a great vacation. Manila used to have some historical structures but these were bombed out by the Japanese during WWII. Intramuros is a ghost of it's former self.
