I'm only 21 and I think my taste is music is what some of my friends mights call sad! haha = ) I love all different types of music old and new... I love motown and tracks of my tears is my favourite song. Do you know any good motown songs or songs that have a similar sound to it. I'm getting tired of all the music I have on my playlists and it's really stuff that alot of people know. Are there any good unknown artists I should listen too?

If you missed it, rent the movie Standing In The Shadow Of Motown. It is a wonderful documentary made 2 or 3 years ago about the studio musicians that performed all the music on those early hits.

As for your question, "Tracks Of My Tears" always reminds me of "I Wish It Would Rain", "What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted?" and "My Girl." The first two are for thematic elements and "My Girl" for the guitar stylings.

You are asking one of the most soulful Irishmen on this forum. My cd collection is full of Stax sounds;Otis Redding,Booker T and The MG's,The Blues Brothers and Steve Cropper with Felix Cavilliere playing organ. I don't know Berry Gordy's motives all I know is the music sounded great. If you do not have this in your DVD collection go to Best Buy and get Stax/Volt Review Live in Norway 1967.The cost is only about 12.00 but anyone who was a whose's who in Memphis music at that time performs.

I like Madeleine Peyroux, Jacqui Naylor and Amos Lee They are all very good jazz easy listening singers. My favorite Motown singers are Stevie Wonder, Smoky Robinson and Marvin Gaye.

I love Motown. Your taste of music is better than theirs. Check out the Temptations, Drifters and Platters.

I do also.Do this click on Yahoo music, and you get to play your own radio station. You fill in your favourite music and singers and the station will play similar songs, and then you rate them by clicking.Eventually they will be in tune with your taste in music.I have mine playing motown all the time.
